【基礎知識精講】

e pictures show what Bob did yesterday.這些圖片表明昨天鮑勃作了什麼。

(1)show“顯示”、“表明”、“給…看”的意思。如:

①Let me show you the photo.我來把照片顯示給你們看。

②Li Hua will show you the way.李華會給你指路的。

(2)What Bob did yesterday是句中 show的賓語，顯然這是個賓語從句，what是該句的關係代詞，注意從句中仍然是陳述句語序。如:

①Can you tell me how I can get to the station？

你能告訴我怎樣才能到達車站嗎？

②He asked Jack what time he went to bed yesterday.

他問傑克昨天幾點鐘睡覺。

(3)注意句中圖片顯示(説明圖片)應用一般現在時態(show)，從句為過去時間發生事情當然用一般過去時(did)。

much is the pork，please？請問豬肉多少錢？

how much在此句中表示“多少錢”。 how much還可以修飾不可數名詞，意思是“多少”。如:

①How much water do you need？你們需要多少水？

②How much chicken is there？有多少雞肉？

we need some more.可是我們需要些更多的。

類似 some more的用法有:

(在聽完某人的陳述後問)Any more？還有要説的嗎？(回答可以説)No more.(沒有了)

of us will bring some food.我們每個人會帶來些食物。

(1)each作形容詞用時，與every的意義在表面上極相似，但在內涵上each着重個別的情況如:

Each dog has a name.每一條狗有它自己的名字。

every則着重全體的情況，用every一字不過表示其中沒有一個例外而已。

Every dog has a name.每一條狗(全部的狗)都有名字。

(2)each作代詞時，是單數。

Each of the three has a different teacher.三個人中各人有各人的教師。

6.I hear a bird sing.我聽到一隻鳥歌唱。

hear後接的不定式 sing省略了to。這類用法請參見第 11單元［重點難點解析3］

【重點難點解析】

often are you ill？你生病的情況怎麼樣？(你多長時間生一次病？)

How often是針對動作的頻率、次數等的疑問詞。其回答除次數外，還可以是 sometimes／usually／always／never等，例如:

①How often do you see a film？ Once a week.

你多久看一次電影？一週一次。

②How often are you late for school？Quite often.

你上學多久遲到一次？太頻繁了。(太多次了)。

2.I think we need to buy some meat for my birthday party.

我想我們需要為我的生日聚會買些肉。

(1)need作情態動詞用時，後加動詞原形，但多用於否定句和疑問句中。例如:

She needn’t buy a new watch.她無需買新手錶。

(2)need作實義動詞，後加不定式，並隨人稱，時態的改變而改變，此時，它可以用於各種句式中。上面兩句話可以説成:

She doesn’t need to buy a new watch.

Do we need to do it again？

試比較:

You need take your coat with you.(錯誤)

You need to take your coat with you.(正確)

yourself to…隨便(吃)…

Help oneself(to…)是指待客人時常用的一句客套話。介詞 to後接名詞或代詞，意為:“別客氣”、“請隨便吃”、“請自便”。如:

①Help yourselves to some fish.請吃些魚。

②Please help yourselves to the apples on the table.桌上的蘋果請隨便吃。

is everything going？一切進行得怎樣？

(1)everything，不定代詞，應理解為單數。every，some, any, no和body，one，thing構成合成代詞，這類不定代詞作主語時，謂語應用單數形式。如:

①Is everyone here today？今天大家都在這裏嗎(到齊了嗎)？

②There is something strange in the sky.天空中有些奇怪的東西。

(2)go此處指事情的進展。類似用法如:

①Ready？Go！準備好了嗎？開始！

②I can’t make it any better，so let it go.我不能改善它，所以讓它保持現狀。
