一、教學目標與要求

通過本單元教學，使學生掌握以下詞彙的用法：though, hardly, neither和both。能獨立完成練習冊有關這些詞彙的各種練習，正確率不低於70％。通過對第94課課文的學習，使學生了解有關艾爾斯山的一些概況，並用自己組織的語言，對艾爾斯山進行簡單的描述。教師可要求學生運用正確的書信格式，以Wei Hua的名義給Bob White寫一封回信；還可要求學生模仿第96課的示例，給自己的筆友寫信，在信中簡單介紹自己的一些情況如姓名、年齡、居住地點、所在學校、業餘愛好等。

本單元兼有總複習作用。通過複習，使學生鞏固19～23單元所學的句型、語法項目和日常交際用語。通過一定的口、筆頭練習，使學生提高運用這些語言材料的能力。特別要注意學生書面能力的訓練。為着手進行初三全面總複習打好基礎。

二、教學重點與難點

1．詞彙學習（Word Study）：1）THOUGH Though I like speaking English, I don't like writing it much.

2）HARDLY There is hardly any milk e are hardly any glasses left.

3）NEITHER and BOTH Neither of us has much time. We both have too much work to do.

2．日常交際用語：[表示讓步（Concession）]Though Australia is very large, the population is quite small.

三、課時安排

本單元共用4課時，每課書用1課時。

第九十三課 Lesson Ninety-three

一、教學內容

1．詞彙（略）。

2．句型：複習以下句型：1）Neither of us has much time. 2） Both John and Ann have got penfriends. 3）Though I like writing to my friend, it takes a lot of time.

二、教具

錄音機。

三、課堂教學設計

1．複習 值日生報告。

教師繼續檢查上一單元的課文複述。

2．聽課文第1部分錄音，教師佈置聽前提問（Pre-listening question）：Do they write to each other very often? Why?

聽錄音一至兩遍。學生回答問題。再聽錄音，學生練習朗讀。

3．學生自己閲讀課文第2部分內容，教師講解both, either, neither等詞的用法（見難點講解）。

4．學生跟着錄音練習課文第3部分並列句。請同學模仿這部分語句造句，然後在全班朗讀所造的句子。教師加以講評。

5．介紹連詞though的用法，要求學生按課本要求，模仿示範進行造句練習。教師予以訂正。

6．佈置作業

書面完成練習冊習題。

四、難點講解

1．Neither of us has much time.我們倆個人都沒有什麼時間。

neither表示“兩者都不”，可作形容詞或代詞。例如：

Neither answer is correct. 兩個答案都不對。（neither是形容詞）

Neither of the answers is correct.（或Neither of the answers are correct.）意思同上，neither是代詞。短語neither…nor…表示“既不……，也不……”。例如：

It is neither blue nor green.它既不是藍色也不是綠色。

Neither my father nor I were there.（或 Neither my father nor I was there.）我和我父親都不在那裏。

neither表示對兩者的否定；both表示對兩者的肯定，使用時應注意區別。例如：

Neither of them has ever been to the Great Wall.他們倆個人都沒有去過長城。（表示否定）

Both of them have been to the Great Wall.他們倆個人都去過長城。（表示肯定）

2．I like listening to the radio, but I can't spend much time on it.我喜歡聽收音機，但是我不能在這方面花去太多的時間。

動詞spend是“花費”的意思，可以構成以下句型：

spend(time or money) on sth. （或in）doing sth. 例如：

Many students spend too much time(in) doing their homework. 很多學生用太多的時間來做作業。

He spent two hours talking before starting his work. 他工作之前用了兩個小時聊天。

She spends a lot of money on books. 她買書花了很多錢。

第九十四課 Lesson Ninety-four

一、教學內容

2．句型：1）Most of the land below looked like sand, though Dad told me it is greener than you think. 2）Though we only stayed there for a few days, we had a great time.

三、課堂教學設計

1．複習 值日生報告。

2．借助學生課本彩色插圖iv關於Ayers Rock的圖片，介紹本課生詞：

T:Now please look at this picture. It's beautiful, isn't it? It is called AYERS ROCK and it's in Australia. Ayers Rock is not high, it's LOW. AT THE FOOT OF the rock, you can see some green GRASS. But now we can HARDLY see any grass because the picture is too small. Look at the sand, it's almost red. And sometimes the SKY is red, too. Do you want to know more about it? Now let's read the text.

領讀生詞，學生反覆練習，直到初步掌握為止。

3．給學生8分鐘左右時間默讀課文（本課計約351個詞）。教師用投影儀打出讀前提問（Pre-reading questions）：1）How did Bob White and his father go to Ayers Rock? 2） How long did they stay there? Did they enjoy their stay there?

規定時限過後，學生回答上述問題。

4．聽課文錄音，學生跟讀一至兩遍。

5．指導學生複習書信格式。

6．做練習冊習題1，方法同前。

7．教師扼要解釋課文難句（見難點講解）。

8．佈置作業

1）練習朗讀本課課文，抄寫生詞；2）準備複述課文；3）書面完成練習冊習題。

四、難點講解

1．But after we left the mountains behind us, there was hardly a cloud in the sky.當我們把羣山甩在身後面，天空幾乎萬里無雲。

hardly是副詞，意思是：幾乎不。在句中表示否定意義。

hardly可以和any/anything/anybody等詞連用。例如：

We've got hardly any food.我們幾乎沒有食物了。

hardly還可和情態動詞can, could等連用。例如：

She could hardly walk.她幾乎走不動了。

2．Though we only stayed there for a few days, we had a great time.雖然我們在那裏只逗留了幾天，我們過得很愉快。

though是連詞，意思是：雖然，引導表示讓步的狀語從句。

though還表示“不過、可是”等意思。例如：Most of the land below looked like sand, though Dad told me it is greener than you think.下面的土地看起來絕大部分像沙子，可是父親告訴我地面上比人所想像的要綠些。

句中than you think中的you指“任何一人”。

第九十五課 Lesson Ninety-five

一、教學內容

2．句型：繼續練習由though引導的讓步狀語從句。

3．課文：進一步掌握課文。

二、教具

三、課堂教學設計

1．複習 教師針對第94課課文內容提問，學生快速回答，以下問題供參考：1）Who wrote the letter? 2）When and where did the boy wtite the letter? 3）Where did Bob White and his father spend their short holiday? 4）How did they go there? 5）Where is Ayers Rock? 6）What did the land below look like? 7） When did Bob and his father start climbing up? 8） Did they reach the top? Why not? 9）What can they find when they climb higher? 10） What did Wei Hua ask Bob in her letter to him? 11）What did Bob ask Wei Hua to send him? 12）How many sheep are there in Australia?

2．檢查學生複述課文。

3．學生獨立做課本第1、2部分回答問題和連句練習，數分鐘後，核對答案。

4．指導學生做練習冊習題，當堂核對答案。講解由though引導的表示讓步的狀語從句與含有等立連詞but的並列句之間的區別，注意加強比較，以免學生混淆（參閲第93課第3、4部分的內容）。

5．佈置作業

1）繼續練習朗讀第94課課文，準備複述；2）以魏華的名義給Bob寫一封回信，要求格式正確，長度相當於原文三分之一。

寫清以下內容：

1）收到來信，表示感謝；2）介紹學校搞足球聯賽，本校戰勝對手，獲得冠軍；3）寄去一些中國郵票，希望他喜歡。

第九十六課 Lesson Ninety-six

一、教學內容

1．詞彙（略）。

2．聽力訓練（見練習冊）。

3．語法：小結由though引導的讓步狀語從句。

4．詞彙學習：複習 though, hardly, neither和both的用法。

二、教具

錄音機。

三、課堂教學設計

1．複習 教師檢查學生複述課文。

2．準備做聽力訓練。給學生一分鐘時間看練習冊習題1。聽錄音三遍，當堂核對答案。

3．給學生兩分鐘時間閲讀課文第2部分的書信，規定時限過後，教師提出以下問題：1）Who wrote the letter? 2） How did the girl know Linda's name? 3）How old is this Chinese girl? 4）Where does she live? 5）Which school does she study at and what grade is she in?

6）Please say something about her parents. 7）Please say something about herself.

問答練習進行完畢以後，要求學生模仿這封信，寫一封短信。可寫給本班同學，也可寫給外班同學，在課下交流。4．指導學生做練習冊習題。當堂核對答案。

5．佈置作業

1）準備用英文給筆友寫一封短信，介紹自己；2）做練習冊總複習習題。
