1. 工資的種種表達方式

wages:（複數）工資；支付給手工或勞力的短期間的工資（日給，周給）

salary: 支付給從事知識性和專門性的工作者的固定薪俸

pay: 薪水、工資等的最普通用語，特製海陸軍人及其他在政府部門工作者的薪水

income:收入；收益

2. admit (admitted, admitting)

vt. 承認、供認，准許……進入、接納、招收

vi. 容許；承認

admit sb. (sth. ) into/to sth. 允許某人(物) 進入

sb. be admitted to school(hospital) 接受某人入學

admit sth. 承認某物

admit doing sth. 承認做某事

admit that clause 承認

e.g. admit my mistake/making a mistake

The school admits sixty new boys and girls every year.

a. vt. 意謂；預定

b. adj. 平庸的；普通的；卑賤的；小氣的

n. means 方法；手段；工具 （同way, method）

intend做或説某件事的意願

mean 沒有intend那種強烈的意圖，指心中想要，為一般用語

plan 指思考計劃等

design 尤指細心的計劃，有慎重行事之意

propose 指公開表明意圖，為徵求他人意見或承認，而表示的明確意圖

3. celebrate 與congratulate

celebrate vt. 慶祝，賓語是節日或事件

congratulate 的賓語不是所慶祝的事，而是所祝賀的人

congratulations to sb. on sth. /congratulate sb, on sth. 祝賀某人某事

e.g. I will congratulate you on your passing the college entrance examination.

You celebrate Christmas in your own way, and let me celebrate it in mine.
