My best friend is Xiao Yi. She has short hair. She has two big eyes and a small mouth. She is tall and thin. She lives on the tenth floor of a tall building. There are five people in her family.

Xiao Yi likes to do sports. She likes to play badminton and volley ball. Her favourite color is pink. Her favorite food is fish and vegetables, because they are healthy. Her hobby is reading books and riding a bike. She often plays the computer or goes shopping on the weekend. Sometimes we go to KFC together. We go there by car.

I like my best friend—XiaoYi. We are good friends

Yesterday was my birthday and I received a lot of presents.

These presents were packed in coloured paper and two of them were funny and interesting, which impressed me.

My sister sent a bag of present to me. The bag was big and round. I though it was a football. But when I opened it, I saw a clock. The other one was given by my brother. He left me a message, which said my present is lying in your bedroom. When I got to my bedroom, I found a laptop. Oh!Great! I jumped with joy. I know, they Want me to study hard and not to waste time.

How to learn English

We know it is difficult to learn English. My English is very good. I learn English like this.

I Listen to the teacher carefully and write the important points down on my notebooks. After class I revise the lessons. Before class I prepare new lessons to find out the questions. Then I will listen carefully in class.

I also listen to the tape, and speak English with my classmates in the classroom and on the playground. It’s to improve my listening and speaking.

I keep a diary every day to practise my written English.

Besides this, I often read English newspapers and magazines to enrich my knowlege on English culture.

We will learn English well so long as we learn it hard.

我們的英語老師她姓高，雖然才剛剛升入五年級，但我覺得高老師已經對我們產生了親切感，而我對高老師也產生了一種好感。她對我們關心、負責而又嚴格，上課津津有味，所以我們都挺喜歡上她的課的。

有一次上課，廣播裏説:“請跳團體操的同學們到學校體育館排練。”英語老師讓她們去了，可是又説：“你們放學後留下來，我給你們補課。”她是多麼負責啊！有哪位老師肯花自己的時間去給幾個同學補課。

又有一次，我們吃好了中午飯，準備回教室休息，這時，高老師也要回教室，她看見了我們，問：“你們的英語作業做完了嗎？”我們都搖頭説：“沒有做完。”“怎麼沒做完？佈置的又不多。”“沒有時間做，別的作業還沒寫完呢。”高老師笑了笑摟着我們親切地説：“你們現在挺忙的，我們小時候可沒這麼忙。”是啊，現在比四年級忙多了，休息的時間都沒有，下課都像沒下課似的。

還有一次，有的同學的回家作業被老師投影到了屏幕上，老師批評他們，還讓他們重寫，我想這也好，可以鍛鍊我們細心、認真。不要做事馬馬虎虎的。你看，我們這個老師夠嚴格的吧！

我非常喜歡這英語老師，因為她嚴格、關心、負責都做到了，她是我心目中的好老師！

我們的寒假放假時間是從一月十六號截至到二月七日。我想每個人在這期間，都會去做很多的事。但是我沒有這樣。下面就讓我來給大家講講我的寒假髮生的.事吧。

我花了很長的時間來做作業…，在寒假這段時間裏，我每天起的都很晚。然後呢，我聽錄音機(tape),轉眼到九點了。之後，我吃完早飯再花一整天的時間去做作業！其實我做的並不慢，只是家庭作業佈置的太多了！

我在玩耍方面也顯得十分倒黴。在我玩爆竹的時候，傷着了我的手指。我手拿着放爆竹的時候，太不小心了，所以顯得很是倒黴。

在我與朋友聚餐時也相當倒黴。早上，我是想着早點起，可是等我睡醒時已經是10：50.十分鐘後，聚會就要開始！於是我只吃了塊麪包就徑直向朋友家跑去！在朋友家呆了很長的時間後，我回到家，我爸爸媽媽很生氣並且還大罵我一頓。

我很擔心我的體重，上學期，我體重是48KG，但是現在我已經漲到51KG了！我必須減肥了！

但是更為重要的是，我已經去過了上海海洋水族館，我非常期待去那，因為在那我可以看到馬、猴子……還有大海。現在我實現這個願望了。這也是我這個寒假唯一的一個亮點。
