resist的用法：

1、resist表示從主觀意識出發的意志“不屈服,忍住”,這時,後面常跟動名詞,並多用於否定句中,意思是“不禁,忍不住”。

She cannot resist giving him advice.

她忍不住給他提建議。

2、resist主要用作及物動詞,偶爾用作不及物動詞。用作及物動詞時,接名詞、代詞或動名詞作賓語。

She says she will resist a single European currency beingimposed.

她説她會反對在歐洲推行單一貨幣。

3、當resist用來表達“免於……，欲……而不”時，後面可接動名詞，但不可接不定式。

She couldn't resist taking aim at the wild geese as they flew over.
