after / behind

這兩個詞都可以表示時間或地點，但各有其不同的涵義。

after 表示時間時，意思是在以後，它表示地點時，意思是在後面，通常指次序的.先後。例如：

He came after ten o'lock．他十點鐘以後來的。

Two days after his arrival，I called on him. 在他到達兩天以後，我拜訪了他。

He left on Monday and returned two days after．他星期一走的，兩天以後就回來了。

behind 表示地點時，意思是在或跟在後面、在或跟在後面，着重指位置的前後。它有時也表示時間，指按照一定的時刻而遲了的意思。例如：

Walk close behind me．緊跟在我後面走。

The dog was running behind．狗跟在後面跑。

The train was behind time．火車誤點了。

You are two hours behind．你遲了兩小時。
