Today is children's day, school holiday one day, I and my father and some of my father's family to go to Wuzhou's cool island to play.

We took about two hours of car and finally arrived at the destination.

We first came to the beginning of the drift. We put on a swimming suit, we can scarcely wait to jump on the kayak. Oh, this drifting is really great. We are singing all the way, a road running screaming, sometimes anxious, sometimes slow, our mood as potential sometimes shocking, sometimes easily. The water splashed, and it was refreshing. It's a pity that all of us are drifting and nobody takes our wonderful moments.

Then we went to the shore and came to the happy "water world". This water world is really a child's world. We play in the water, water inside the battle, a wooden bridge, a slide, super fun! The most fun of them is the water slide. I ran up the starting point of the high ladder. The staff first taught me to hold my head with both hands when I slipped, and the elbow was up, and the mood was relaxed. I believe honesty is one of the greatest gifts there is. I know they call it a lot of fancy names these days, like integrity and forthrightness. But it doesn't make any difference what they call it; it's still what makes a man a good citizen. This is my code, and I try to live by.

You've got to be tough to fight the New York traffic eight hours a day, these days. Because taxi drivers are tough, people get the wrong impression that they are bad. Taxi drivers are just like other people. Most of them will shake down as honest fellows. You read in the papers almost every week where a taxi driver turns in money or jewels or bonds, stuff like that, people leave in their cabs. If they weren't honest, you wouldn't be reading those stories in the papers.

One time in Brooklyn, I found an emerald ring in my cab. I remembered helping a lady with a lot of bundles that day, so I went back to where I had dropped her off. It took me almost two days to trace her down in order to return her ring to her. I didn't get as much as “thank you.” Still, I felt good because I had done what was right. I think I felt better than she did.

In 20xx I had the worst year of my life.

I eventually regained my physical health, but not long after that I got a call from my family at home to say that my father’s cancer had fiercely progressed and that he had been admitted to a hospice.

The shock and extreme heart break brought me to my knees. The pain was so great and my world just looked desolate. I had no real home, no money, no job, and no friends that cared. Not one person had even sent me a sympathy card for my loss.

We take an emotion that’s fleeting and make it a solid event, instead of something that passes through us.

I know we’ve all felt decisions or actions that we had to take simply due to our “gut” impulses: when asked, we can’t explain the reasons behind doing so — just a deep knowing that it had to get done. This instinct is the part of ourselves we’re approaching for answers.

With the advent of college, I was brought to grips with the problem of earning a living. Then one day, I met a girl, a wonderful girl, an army nurse, whose faith and stability were to change my whole life. As our acquaintance ripened into friendship, she discerned, behind a shell of gaiety, my recurring plateaus of depression. She said, “Stop knocking on closed doors. Keep up your beautiful music. I know your opportunity will come. You’re trying too hard. Why don’t you relax, and have you ever tried praying?”

The idea was strange to me. It sounded too simple. Somehow, I had always operated on the premise that, if you wanted something in this world, you had to go out and get it for yourself. Yet, sincerity and hard work had yielded only meager returns, and I was willing to try anything. Experimentally, self-consciously, I cultivated the daily practice of prayer. I said: God, show me the purpose for which You sent me to this world. Help me to be of use to myself and to humanity.

In the years to follow, the answers began to arrive, clear and satisfying beyond my most optimistic anticipation. One of the answers was Enchanted Hills, where my nurse friend and I have the privilege of seeing blind children come alive in God’s out-of-doors. Others are the never-ending sources of pleasure and comfort I have found in friendship, in great music, and, most important of all, in my growing belief that as I attune my life to divine revelation, I draw closer to God and, through Him, to immortality.
