on表示“在物體的表面上”；通常用作介詞，表示在...上；向，朝等含義。用作副詞，表示向前（移動）；用作形容詞，表示在進行的，在發生的等含義。

四.注意in與on的使用

on表示“在物體的表面上”，而in表示“在其中”。只能用in的表達方式有in the morning，in the afternoon，in the evening和in the night。只能用on的表達方式有on the next morning，on the following afternoon，on the preceding evening，on the night before等。
