My English teacher is a young girl. She is medium height and thin with long curly hair. She is popular among us.

During the first English lesson this term, she told us something about learning English. We should write down our grammar mistakes in our notebooks and should speak English in and out of class to improve our oral English. It is a good idea to listen to the tape or read a newspaper in English but remember not to translate every word. There are some foreign teachers in our school, so how about talking with them? If you feel shy and can not speak to them, before you start, you can take a deep breath and smile. Smiling always helps a lot. And you can try to enjoy English movies or songs! Finally, you must write down the correct spelling, translation and grammar next to the mistakes after every dictation. I’ve learnt a lot from what our teacher told us.

老媽學英語的熱情日益高漲，因而我的苦難就日益加深，每當老媽問我英文的時候，一般我都會先吃三片阿司匹林，纏好繃帶，再運上龜背神功至第十二重。

這不，她老人家又來問我了——

老媽：“這個‘I＇m very annoyed，don＇t trouble me.’是什麼意思？”

我説：“啊……這個……我很煩，別煩我……”

老媽：“找打，跟你媽這麼説話！”(於是被扁)

老媽又問：“‘I hear nothing，repeat.’是什麼意思啊？”

我説：“我沒聽清，再説一次。”

老媽又説了一遍：“‘I hear nothing，repeat.’”

我説：“我沒聽清，再説一次！”(結果再次被扁)

老媽再問：“‘What do you say？’又怎麼解釋呢？”

我説：“你説什麼？”(又被扁)

老媽繼續問：“‘Look up in the dictionary’是何意啊？”

我説：“查字典。”

老媽：“查字典我還問你做甚！”(扁我)

老媽又問：“‘You had better ask somebody.’怎麼翻呢？”

我説：“你最好問別人。”

老媽：“你是我兒子，我問別人幹嗎，又找打……”

我起身要逃，被老媽抓了回來，又被扁！

老媽：“敢耍你老媽，哼哼！我再問你，‘Use your head，then think it over.’又是什麼意思啊？”

我説：“動動腦子，再仔細想想……”

老媽：“好小子，還敢耍我！”(接着又要動手)

我連忙説：“不對，不對，是‘世上只有媽媽好’的意思！”

老媽：“嗯！這還差不多，一會兒我給你做好吃的，明天再問你。”

第二天，我正在看碟，老媽捧了本書進來。

老媽：“這個‘I don＇t know.’是什麼意思？”

我説：“我不知道。”

老媽：“送你上大學上了幾年，你怎麼什麼都不知道！”

我説：不是！就是“我不知道”嗎！

老媽：“還嘴硬……”(拳腳相加，一頓暴揍)

過了一會兒。

老媽：“這個‘I know.’是什麼意思？這回你總該知道吧！”

我説：是“我知道。”

老媽：“知道就快説！”

我説：就是“我知道。”

老媽：“找茬呀你？剛才收拾你收拾得輕了是不？”

我説：就是“我知道”呀！

老媽：“知道你還不説！不懂不要裝懂！”(又一頓暴揍)

老媽揍累了，喘氣中……

老媽：“你給我小心點，花那麼多錢送你上大學，搞的現在什麼都不會，懂一丁點英語還跟老孃擺譜，再問你最後一個，你給我好好解釋一下，説不出來我再收拾你。給我翻譯一下‘I know but I don’t want to tell you.’是什麼意思？”

我暈倒，拿起枕頭往頭上暴砸三十幾下，用頭撞牆四十多下，雙手輪番抽自己嘴巴五十多下，用腿踢桌子角六十多下，血肉模糊之時，我問老媽：“意思是‘我知道，但我不想告訴你！’這下你滿意吧！”

not solely a scoring machine, jenny is a payer as well. unyielding, hard working, always energetic thats what her suecess is all about.

imagine what challenges one has to conquer if born in a poor country. jenny has met all that obstacles head on. she is an un yielding girl, with uncanny instincts, thriving in adversity, she can always find a way. it is her fueled indestructible competitive desire that makes a difference. as the saying goes: when the going gets tough, the tough gets going. jenny is such kind of tough people with the burning desire that gets her there.

however, the failure of energy, in our eye, seems never disturb her. she is a fountain of vigor, the fountain that never dries up. while strength is usually bound in numbers, hers comes from within. without regular meals, without appropriate sleep, even without sincere love,but all above are not half so important as compared with the steps shes just made. that is absolutely enough.

burning desire to win, relentless spirit, endless energy,these are something to savor, as we look forward to more spectacular quality from one of the schools most breathtaking competitor jenny. her tenacious performance earned her the best student of the year, the recognition she so richly deserved.
